FAQs
Dress Code?
At Hoffman Dance Collective, we believe dance should be welcoming and accessible to everyone. For our classes, there is no strict dress code — we simply ask dancers to come dressed in something comfortable that allows them to move freely.
Leggings, athletic wear, dancewear, or comfortable clothing are all great options.
How long is our season?
At Hoffman Dance Collective, our regular dance season runs from September through May. During this time, dancers participate in weekly classes where they build technique, learn choreography, and grow in confidence throughout the year. The season concludes with our annual spring showcase in May, where dancers have the opportunity to perform and celebrate all the hard work they’ve put in throughout the season.
Following our May show, we offer a 4-week Mini Session program, where dancers can explore different dance styles in a fun and relaxed setting.
Throughout the summer months, Hoffman Dance Collective also offers Summer Dance Camps, giving dancers the chance to stay active, continue learning, and enjoy creative dance experiences during the break.
What’s the difference between Recreational, Pre-Competitive, and Competitive dance?
Recreational Dance
Recreational classes are perfect for dancers who want to learn, have fun, and build skills in a relaxed, low-commitment environment. These classes typically train once per week and focus on technique, creativity, and enjoyment. Dancers perform in our year-end show but do not attend competitions.
Pre-Competitive Dance
Our Pre-Competitive program is a great step between recreational and competitive dance. Dancers train once per week and have the opportunity to attend two competitions throughout the season. This program introduces dancers to the performance experience while maintaining a balanced schedule.
Competitive Dance
Competitive dance is for dancers looking for a higher level of training and commitment. These dancers train multiple times per week, focus on advanced technique and performance, and attend several competitions throughout the season. It is a more intensive program designed for dancers who are passionate about growing and performing at a higher level.
